I think it has to do with the API calls being different, that how to tutorial was from almost a year plus ago.

Usually if it's a scope error, you'd see some kind of 403 error stating that you don't have the correct scope and a reference to the scope you need to...

Same for OAuth I believe. Might be a 401 error in that case though

That is the part that was confusing me the most because I was using the company_id from the email supplied to our organization.

So I was looking at and entering the company id, which is different than the record id.

And yes when the OAuth is missing or incorrect it does return a error status, invalid auth.
